Hello NMFT Members,
We want to provide you with an update on our 2025–2026 contract reopener negotiations. Your NMFT negotiating team met Monday, 9/8 for negotiations prep for negotiations with the District on Tuesday and Wednesday, (9/9 and 9/10).
We are getting close to some mutual agreements regarding:
- Additional release time for SAI teachers
- Current employee costs for HMO health benefit plans
We are currently working towards agreement on:
- Clarifying the practices for staff and PLT meeting times that respect your time
- Providing adequate and equitable prep time for elementary SCC teachers
- Securing a salary increase that truly reflects your value as dedicated educators
We will continue to keep you updated on negotiations. In the meantime, we want to thank you for your continued engagement and support as it is vital. We appreciate our many members who have reached out with kind words and encouragement. Please stay tuned for more NMFT communications about showing up to the NMUSD School Board Meeting on Tuesday, September 16th to support our bargaining efforts on your behalf.
